Today's Provincial Budget was a missed opportunity to strengthen Ontario โ and as the Official Opposition, we will keep using our power in the legislature every single day to fight to get people the reassurance, relief, and results they need.

Iโm relieved the bike lanes on Bloor St, Yonge St and University Ave can stay for now, so riders can travel around our city safely.

I donโt remember what made me laugh in this photo. But every time I walk through Christie Pits, Iโm reminded of how valuable green space is in our city.
On Earth Day, letโs continue working towards a more sustainable and stable Ontario, with good jobs, a green economy, and nature we can enjoy.
Iโm proud to serve on the Leaderโs Advisory Council on Tariff Response and Economic Security ๐จ๐ฆ
This is a critical moment for Ontario. Iโm looking forward to working with you to fight for a fairer, more sustainable future.

The future of housing in our city starts in our neighbourhoods, with people like you and me.
It was great to join Seaton Village Residentsโ Associationโs community talk on affordable housing and how it can take shape in our community.
Itโs time for housing to be an essential everyone can afford.
We should be lifting people up, not making it harder for them to get by.
Take a look at my breakdown of the financial watchdogโs report on what the Conservatives are doing with our money here: jessicabellmpp.ca/we_should_be_lifting_people_up
Social assistance rates are lower today than they were 20 years ago.
We should be lifting people up, not sending them deeper into poverty

At the kid-friendly rally today at Queen's Park with @cycletoronto.bsky.social demanding we keep our bike lanes.
Kids are coming up to the microphone telling the crowd why they want the bike lanes to stay.
For them, it's about getting to high school, independence, freedom, and safety.
It's never been clearer that we need more ways to get safely from A to B, not less.
That's why I'm joining the @cycletoronto.bsky.social Kidical Mass Ride this Saturday from 2-4pm, at Queen's Park.

Education sets our kids up for success โ๏ธ
Thatโs why itโs crucial for us to share what works best in our schools + colleges here in Ontario.
Wonderful to meet with the UK House of Commonsโ Select Committee on Education at Queenโs Park, for a roundtable discussion about all things education! ๐
The Conservatives knew that removing bike lanes with Bill 212 was a terrible idea for cyclists and drivers.
We will continue to advocate for safer streets for all, in the courts, in the legislature and in the streets.

This is why itโs crucial that hardworking RNs, PSWs and other skilled caregivers are fairly compensated, supported and equipped to do what they do best โ care.
Itโs great to see the innovative and vital work being done by the OโNeill Centre and their staff to foster a warm long-term care community that truly feels like home for their residents at Christie Pits.
This is crucial for us to deliver the high-quality, public care that every patient deserves.
This would mean that nurses are able to spend more time caring for patients, and that more nurses are able to continue practicing in Ontario.
Nurse to patient ratios need to change - itโs that simple.
Yesterday, I joined nurses, other medical professionals and the Ontario Nurses Association outside Toronto General Hospital to call for safe nurse to patient ratios in Ontarioโs hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Itโs vital that our nurses have safe working conditions and are paid a fair wage.
Thank you UniversityโRosedale, for putting your trust in me to represent you. Yesterday, I was sworn in again as your MPP.
Being an elected official is a privilege, a responsibility and an honour. I pledge to do my very best to serve all of us well at Queenโs Park.
That means dealing with the threat of Trump and tariffs with everything we've got.ย
The people of Ontario haveย told us we need to keep fighting for publicly funded + delivered healthcare, to build more homes, and to buildย a tariff-proof economy that works for everyone.
Our team is ready to work.
We are represented by teachers, farmers, city builders, labour leaders, and people from so many fields and perspectives. We represent all corners of Ontario, from downtown Toronto, to the North.ย
We came together today to debrief the election, and plan for the coming four years.
We are back.ย ย
We hosted our first Ontario NDP caucus meeting today at Queens Park, as Ontario's Official Opposition.ย ย
I reflected on the MPPs in our caucus, including our new representatives, Alexa Gilmour, Dr Robin Lennox and Catherine McKenney.
To the people of UniversityโRosedale, I have two simple words to say โ Thank You.
It is an honour and privilege to serve as your MPP, and Iโm ready to continue fighting for the community we call home.
I look forward to us working together in the days, months and years to come.
