Aubrieta deltoidea, purple rock cress. Cabbage family and like most of those could not give AF about cold weather. It likes well drained areas.

Spring is arriving.
Vegan gf wraps. Pan fried tofu with vegan provolone, steamed cauliflower, green onions and corn tortillas.
Rabbit fence is up. Mustard greens are in the ground.
Mustard greens are starting to sprout!
Processing more hibiscus fiber. I'll rehydrate some later and see how it does for cordage.
So I harvested this Hibiscus moscheutos (hardy hibiscus) last fall for a friend. The I couldn't get through stems to her conveniently, so they've been retting on my driveway for the winter. I decided to try to debark them for ease of transportation and success!
Also from today. I gave up on procuring it myself and bought 4 yards delivered to the driveway. If those seeds don't have a garden to go in by the time spring is here, the plan doesn't work. I put down one yard today three to go.
The plan comes to fruition. The cold frame is full and my seeds are starting.
Hamamelis - witchazel! Such a lovely bloom in late winter. Finally a contemporary photo. They are part of the native understory around here.
Cute Critter Friday! Spring is coming. This is last year's pic. Just remember it's OΕΎujak/March. Which in Croatian means the lying month. It pretends its still winter, but we know spring is on the doorstep.
I preemptively quit all Amazon related services when I saw how garbage they were to employees. Recently I told people to boycott Meta and people pushed back very hard. The most important things to do are the hardest.
An out of season pic. Zinnias, because we all need something beautiful today.
Went on an amazing blitz of the Met with friends. I got to see Daunian artifacts in person which was very profound. I was unreasonably excited about Fibula. It was totally amazing to see pieces in person that I've been stalking online. The ducks are Etruscan.
Rabbit damage this winter is insane. That's burning bush, while I have no love lost for it, that's not normal. Too many mild winters mean too many rabbits.
Meet Padre Pio. He is now our house saint because I discovered his relic under our dryer. Saint of civil defenders and the January blues. I'm not second guessing help even if it comes from odd places.
I have a chair near my work desk so the cat can be close. I moved a second chair up because I needed downstairs space. It is catceptable.
Spring is still just a promise, but it's a promise that it's always made good. Here's trilliums while you wait.
NERD TIME! This is the begninings of the data gathering for my new research.
I'm recording the bib entries first, then I'm clear to deep dive and play with the data afterwards. I like to front-load the tedious part. Eat that πΈ
Gorgeous peonies to get you through a blah February day.
My search into my ancestral history for reenactment has turned up an unexpected gem.
This good boi is an Illyrian Sheepdog, Ε arplaninac, or Ilyrski OvΔar.
Each day I purge more of my saves, photos, and follows on my meta accounts. It's a multi-week process. But I'm not going back.
Did you know magnolias come in yellow? Not sure of the cultivar, but 'Elizabeth' is one of the yellow varieties.
Thank you, today is really rough and that made me laugh when I didn't expect to.
I just called my bank to find out how hard it would be to change our account numbers. The woman said "I talked to you about this on Monday". I said "That was not me". She sounded harried. Guess I'm not the only one worried.
Thank you I need this.
I mean I'm not entirely sure why it's even a microphone, but I'll also accept "magic wand" for an answer
Here's the orchid. Just a pretty common Phalenopsis, but I've had good luck with it. It's in a north window.

This app tells you how a company donates. I installed it, and while I can't avoid everything, I can make some changes quite easily.

My clivia is blooming. I've had two amaryllis pop open and my orchid re spiked and has four blooms. Pretty good.
Not regretting my decisions to hoard food, expand the vegetable bed, home can, and start learning to brew.
If you cannot do these things and hit hard times, PLEASE, say something. We will get through this together.
If you need help growing or canning, let me know. <3
