yeah i also think it also aligns with a lot of internalised anti-arab racism. so the whole lebanon isn't really arab it's phoenician thing i've heard. i've noticed this sort of thing a lot online though so not sure how common this is in real life (i'm iraqi).

i do also think iranian islamaphobia is just a manifestation of the anti-arab racism v common in iran. it is part of the narrative that the arabs brought islam to iran and ruined the persian culture that had existed and that modern islamism in the country is foreign to true iranian culture etc etc

iraqis and iranians are human beings just like ukrainians, despite what mainstream sociopaths on this website might think.

during the beginning of the ukraine war, i was visiting my cousins in canada. they had been made refugees after america's second war in iraq. they talked about how triggering they found scenes from russia's aggression because it reminded them of the 'shock and awe' or america's aerial bombing.

but i still haven't heard from them and have no way of knowing if they're safe or not.

it really bugs me that the consensus opinion is we are not involved in the war in Iran, when we are still in fact aiding the belligrants. Spain is in fact the only western country to have behaved with any decency.

i just want add, that a lot of the negative obsession with zack polanski is just cope for people trying to justify why they are so out of touch with what is now very obviously becoming the mainstream left opinion.

it also explains the labour is so terrible at comms and literally any sort of vision comes as a surprise vs what they should have been assessed on to begin with. it seems as if the only thing policy / politics wonks want is people like them. which actually makes for a shit politician.

i have a couple of friends who worked in the civil service and learned a bit about the balance between the two. and i find it so weird that the uk political media class assess politicians on the basis they will do the job of civil servant well.

I think it was pretty clear in the 2020s that fascism across the white-people world was an international movement, and that its adherents were far more closely aligned with each other than they were with their compatriots. Is this not the underlying point of the Trump-Putin stuff, after all?
