Public Trust in Scientists and Views on Their Role in Policymaking Americans’ trust in scientists is slightly higher than it was last year, but remains lower than before the COVID-19 pandemic.

A recent Pew research poll shows 76% of Americans trust scientists to act in the public’s best interests (up from previous years!), but only 45% think they’re good communicators. Good facts alone aren’t enough— how we communicate those facts makes a difference.

I have a lot of conversations about this and at some point issues like these need to fall back in the hands of professionals. Access to information whether true or false has started to let everyone believe they are the expert over the experts.
