Azziza Malanda will discuss the adoption of Black German children in Denmark and the role of racial otherness in post-WWII Germany. Bettina Hitzer will address transnational adoption in West Germany in the 1960s-80s, the ideal of colour-blindness and the lived experiences of adoptees.
