We do understand some people are hesitant about the word length but we did feel it was a fair amount to balance writers and artists.
A quick clarification:
We received a question as to whether this was a zine or an event.
We are an event - we will be sharing works through socials and an AO3 collection.
The guidelines are in place to ensure everyone participates to an equal base measure for fairness.

Hello, we did feel 5K was a good match for what we’re requesting from artists. We believe the creation period is a good length to facilitate the goal. And mods will be available to work through any issues during that time.

After some feedback and discussion the mods have decided to add to virtual photography and cosplay to the event. We have also called out 3D art as being included in art.

Hello. We picked the word goal that we felt was commensurate with what we asked of artists. We do have a timeline that runs until the end of June to give ample time for completion for our participants. And Mods will be available during the event to talk through any issues.
