And, in that discussion, we should be clear about who are the people that are harassing the Black experts to the point that they decide to leave...
Because it generally seems to always come down to the same group finding fault and attacking...
And that shit is old and tired.

Double ear infection, which explains why a crayon was being used. Antibiotics are on the case. Thanks. π
Mr Krabs looking defeated as he stares at a sign that says β0 days without nonsense.β
The thing about autistic kids is that they absolutely still hit βtypicalβ childhood milestones. They just do it on a different timeline.
I just pulled a piece of crayon out of my 17 year-oldβs ear. Off to get antibiotics.
When faced with a shockingly exploitative new employment contract that wouldβve forced them to sign away their IP, their likeness rights, and their power of attorney, Jupiter Jetson and her coworkers at Sheriβs fought backβfast.
They organized a union in SIX DAYS. www.thenation.com/article/econ...
The slaves must be cheerful and were using AI to check!
This looks amazing. ππΏ
In light of everything, a reminder:
"The most visible layer as a Black disabled person is our Blackness, which is constantly under the threat of scrutiny, assumed guilt, and, as logically follows, persecution." - Tinu Abayomi-Paul in #TheBlackAgendaBook
I refuse to have the racism vs ableism discussion with anyone who doesnβt acknowledge that racial slurs are violence, particularly a white person using that word against Black people.
If you break someoneβs nose while having a seizure, you having epilepsy doesnβt unbreakable their nose.
No. I havenβt seen that YT video. People have been making this argument for years. I first saw it used as a rebuttal to the idea that Dany is an imperialist/white savior, mostly in the tv show branch of the fandom.
So there's a black girl scout troop trying to raise money to to to Europe but they aren't close to their goal as of yet. Please share this and buy some cookies if you can

PS The reason Raymun Fossoway has a Yorkshire accent in the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series, is because House Fossoway trace their line back to the First Men, like the Starks. Itβs a subtle way to underline his comments about the Targaryens. His people have been in Westeros since the Dawn Age.
Which for me, begs even more questions about the true purpose of the wall, and how the Long Night was actually ended. If it was ended by people or a naturally ending of the atmospheric phenomenon that caused it to start or a magical pact, not unlike the one made between the children and First men.
Questions about how the Starks and the Nightβs Watch enforce this border despite having for more in common with the Wildlings than any of the Southern kingdoms. What thatβs says about how indigenous people can be complicit in imperialistic/colonial systems that dividing them from their own people.
Again, if youβre going to use real world sociological terms know what they mean and then think long and hard about how they would actually fit into this fantasy series.
For example, Iβve seen fantastic parallels drawn between The Wall and the border between America and Mexico. Raising interesting
Even all that aside, if you did a little deeper into the history and lore of the series itβs very clear that The Children of the Forest, especially their green seers, are the βOld Gods.β The magic of the Westwoodβs is their magic, that they taught to the first men.
Thatβs why there is no record of the First Menβs culture prior to coming to Westeros. Unlike the Andals who actually did the largest amount of deforestation of the continent, killed off the Children, forced their own religion and culture onto the indigenous humans of Westeros.
For one thing, indigenous people arenβt magical beings. Comparing us to them ignores our humanity and undermines our history of migration.
But even in the canon of the series, the First Men integrate with the Children of the Forest, taking on their culture and religion as their own.
I need people who have no actually understanding of what βindigenousβ and βcolonizerβ means to stop using these terms to talks about the A Song of Ice and Fire universe.
It isnβt as simple as the βFirst Men were colonizers and the Children of the Forest were indigenous people.β
I needed this news after that vague Instagram post.
There seems to be a lot of discussion about Gavin Newsom today.
I wanted to re-share this piece that I wrote, because I have a lot of center-to-left Dems that follow me that want to understand.
There are very good reasons transgender people do not like Gavin Newsom.
Poster for Marvel Televisionβs Wonderman. Featuring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (who plays the titular character) seated on top of the letter W, that is part of the Hollywood sign. Ben Kingslyβs Trevor Slatterly is on the ground leaning against the letter.
Wonderman is fantastic. Hilarious and heartfelt.
While thereβs no confirmation that the MCUβs Wonderman is a mutant (he isnβt in the comics). Thematically this feels more like a mutant story than a superhero one. Where powers arenβt aspirational, but a kind of otherness.

My kids were raised on the Batman Superman animated movie. In other words, they were raised right.
This week, my illegally detained neighbor -- an asylum seeker with a wife and two children -- will have a hearing that gives him a chance to get home to his family and get his asylum case back on track. But he will need to pay a $6000 bond.
