Oh Iβm so sorry to read this. I enjoyed sharing little bits of his adventures. It struck me that you were the best co-habiter ever!

It doesnβt matter at all. We had an interesting discussion, mainly about beer brewersβ obsessions about water quality ;-)
I had written a long answer but just re-read your message and read drinking water. Yes, the Taswater response was all drinking water, which is apparently very stable but not publicly available unless dud.
Itβs a mantisfly, one of the lacewings.
Iβm asking my TasWater contact if she knowsβ¦
Wow! It took me a while to see them.
The good (bad) bit about this is that the water around Tas has got too warm for the salmon. The fish are stressed so they get diseased, hence the need for the terrible antibiotics. Without these, the Tas industry will die unless climate or industry change is addressed (very fast).
Itβs so depressing but so true. π’
Itβs a shame our Environmental Protection Authority is so politically compromised that it no longer leads with science & no longer protects the environment. Thank goodness for federal input.
I think Tasmanians know, but the βclean & green Tasmanian produceβ illusion lives on for many mainlanders.
Me too. We always took the kids along too & they were as keen as mustard to start voting themselves when the time came. Itβs fun to do your bit.
Voting so easy that itβs a social event. People walk in little clusters to the local primary schools etc, catch up with neighbours in the queue, and then cap it off with a politician themed cake & democracy sausage. Whatβs not to like?
The last surviving Maugean Skates are extremely disappointed in himβ¦
Yes he also *wants* a stadium and Tasmaniaβs political lads canβt distinguish between personal wants and what is best for the state. Canning the stadium takes leadershipβ¦
Well thatβs a minor miracle. If only chip packets were made with the same stuff (I assume they arenβt) we could still have the delight of mini twistie packets dangling off our ears ;-)
Hooray!!! Well done team.
I wonder what we breathed in as we shrunk those bags? Fun though!
Weβre living that dream too. βDonβt try to help us -weβre independentβ as they crumble into a sad vat of chaos.
Oh, thatβs cool!
Ha ha. It would be handy if we could just chuck the vet a liver treat for a check up & a pigs ear for surgery :-)
It never rains but it pours ;-)
Yes heβs such a poor boy. I always hope that they work out that the vet hurt is for the greater good.
Thereβs been a push to do that but unfortunately our Liberal/ Labour βleadersβ seem to prefer third world options. They are firmly buried in 1940βs / 1950βs thinking. The multinational salmon industries donβt actually want to pay anything to get their profits, so Tas is a perfect target.
I donβt know many Tasmanians that still buy salmon. Seeing the reality of the industry really turns you off putting it in your mouth!
It feels like itβs still a race in every state/territory for the powers-that-be to cause as much environmental destruction as they can, as fast as they can. Laughingly they call it βeconomic senseβ, as they simultaneously clean up after floods, fight fires, brace for cyclones, hide from the heatβ¦.
Maybe the salmon farmers should be putting their energy & $$$ into slowing climate change, (not bullying). If the waters werenβt warming their salmon wouldnβt be under as much stress. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02...
I guess it becomes redundant when the key is the diameter of a softball ;-)
Oh wow. Vets certainly donβt do keyhole!
