I’d wager that would be delicious if sliced thin and toasted, maybe with a bit of olive oil. Or as croutons. Many of my flat loaves have found their true purpose as crostini or croutons.

To make a living, I install baseball field lights, clean sewer drains, and run a barbecue stand. Grasslight, gratekeep, grillboss.

I hope there’s a grain of truth in that statement

Why all the secrecy? Are you an oceanographer discovering new bodies of water?

I switched to Nobara, and I have no regrets! It’s great for gaming, unless you play games with anti-cheat engines or want a seamless VR experience.

I’d recommend Trader Joe’s Winter Warmer β„οΈβ˜•οΈβ„οΈ It tastes like christmas.

You’re in for a superb weekend! I did a multi-week watch of TPM, AOTC, β€œThe Clone Wars” (abridged), Bad Batch, ROTS, Andor, and Rogue One, and it was phenomenal. Especially Bad Batch, Andor, and Rogue One.

The horn stinger when you enter the depths hits every time. Such a good game.

That’s amazing! I hope more countries adopt that treatment paradigm. It seems like it would be fairly easy to have patients sit in a sauna pod while getting chemo, so long as the patients are otherwise healthy enough to withstand the heat.

Breakthrough is the wrong word, I guess, if it has been used for years in other countries, but it’s new to me!

Ohhh okay so the room’s temp is 113 F? I misinterpreted. Thanks for clarifying. That’s such a cool breakthrough!

I thought a fever above 106 F was considered a medical emergency/hyperpyrexia. Would 113 F be a localized application of heat?

You didn’t want to see that funny post that you only got to read half of, right? Oh, you did? Well then go ahead and scroll… and scroll… oh wait no it’s gone. No worries, just use the search tool. It’s AI-powered to help you find anything except for the thing you want to find.

This little dude is EXACTLY what I needed today. A bowl of oats didn’t cut it.

I finally figured out how to make a serviceable replacement for Marzetti’s lemon vinaigrette. The secret is adding enough sugar. My favorite salad dressing is just sugar.

This Michigan city goes wild for its public library's Summer Game Summer for thousands of people in Ann Arbor means scavenging for hidden codes around the city and reading books to collect points. It's been a triumph for the public library that runs it.

They heard this story along with the D&D story and conflated the two. www.npr.org/2025/08/06/n...

For the record, I think any news about more people playing D&D is wonderful. I just don’t know where that β€œoverrepresented” assertion came from.

I can’t find the original article. The OP cited an NPR segment, but that segment did not discuss demographics, unless I’m missing it.

I don’t see (or hear) anything in this about any demographic information. Am I missing it?

I’ve been shirking my advocacy duties :/. I’ve been watching a lot of Townsends videos, though, and I was pleased to find out that the β€œburgoo”/gruel/porridge eaten on ships back in the day was often made from oats. Oats were as relevant then as they are today.

Why aren’t any of the audiobook recordings of Moby Dick (at least the ones available on Libby) read by a grizzled old sailor? If I’m to listen to 24 hours of descriptions of whale hunting and processing, and old ships, and the search for meaning or whatever, I’m gonna need Ishmael to be grizzled af
