I was at a 3 way stop T intersection going straight and had to wait for a big tanker truck to finish his maneuver, and as soon as it was clear, I started to go and the lady that pulled up behind him honked at me like ma’m I was here before you so it’s my turn???

I often refer to my body like it’s a separate entity. “Sorry I ate that, I’ll get you more fiber tomorrow.” Or “oh shoot we forgot to brush our teeth!”. Right now, the withdrawal from Zepbound is turning me into a werewolf and I can’t do anything about it. I just have to survive until Wednesday.

I had to stop taking a medication recently (thanks insurance) and I’ve been thinking about Little Guy more. People sometimes ask me if Steve is my fursona and no, he isn’t. He’s more of a mascot!

I feel like a little amorphous guy whose body just does shit sometimes. Thus: Little Guy.

In a lot of ways, I'm really lucky. I work from home. I write and draw books. I still experience a lot of the same normal creative issues. I'm burned out. My current project frustrates me. But a few things in my routine have changed. Me: Hey, mom. Are the cousins okay? How's grandma? And your sisters? Me: Oh, good. Yeah. Okay, that's good. I'll call you later. Watching Bob's Burgers on repeat while I work.

My friends check in from time to time. Text: I got rubber-bulleted by ICE just on my way back from work. Ouch. Text: Hey I'm gonna observe tomorrow at the protest. I'll text every hour, and if you don't hear from me, please call [number] and give them my identifying information. I'd probably be at the Whipple. Okay? Text: They knocked on my door, but I'm okay. I demanded a signed judicial warrant, and they couldn’t provide one, so they left. I’m worried all the time.

This year was… a lot. I’m kinda just burnt out on existing. It’s cold, GenAI is everywhere, and the world is on fire. But… I’m finding ways to survive. That’s all I can do.

People who prefer cold weather are 100% valid and the logic of “you can put layers on but can only take off so much” is very understandable but also once I am cold, no amount of layers will make me un-cold.

Man it’s been fall weather for approximately 2 days here and I’m already over it. I know yall love your crisp air, hoodies, pumpkin spice, and spooky season but I miss my long daylight hours and not having cold bones :(

Fingers crossed he’ll be able to survive. I think I’m more prepared this time.

We had another two spawns last weekend so I’ve got more babies coming up! Hopefully I can get this guy a friend :)

He made it!!! This is the last surviving hermit crab from the first spawn at the beginning of August! He’s 43 days old today and just went from the Zoeae stage to the megalopa stage! Now he has to learn how to use his legs and pick a shell!

YALLLL we got caterpillars in our garden!!!!! There’s at least 3 of them hanging out on our parsley. I’m so happy the bugs love what we made for them 💕 I hope these little guys will be safe!!
