Kia ora Team,
Please update this misinformation in your headline immediately, it is absolutely not correct that catching the virus is our new booster and is deeply negligent to give this impression to the public.
Please confirm this has been updated, and see correct info here:
"What many people don't realise is that getting Covid repeatedly is not like building immunity, it's more like accumulating damage. Each infection raises your risk of long Covid and serious complications."

I have emailed but if anyone can reach Stuff more quickly that would be great.

This is misinformation - a correction needs to be issued, an apology given, and a process put in place so this doesn’t reoccur.

It is unacceptable and negligent this has been up for a full day during a health crisis.

Is that because of the state of the economy, or has Xero got worse? I used it when I was freelancing, when it felt like a breath of fresh air to me, too. It felt like an accomplishment to reconcile invoices and track slow payers while not having to pay an accountant as much as previously.

Most of them wouldn't have enough friends to warrant it. But I suppose they'd need somewhere to brag about their superyacht and trophy wife/husband/space mission.

Banner of an email received this morning regarding collection societies' shares, publishing rights and royalties for sales on that platform. This is good news.

Some encouraging news from Bandcamp, where the collection society share will now apply to eligible sales in additional territories. This already applies to sales in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and will now also apply to all other territories, including the United States.

Attempting to replace the very things about being a human that we find pleasurable (music, art), instead of the onerous chores and dangerous tasks. And then doing even the former badly.

So that’s that, right? We don’t have to put up with endless drivel about how expensive it is to save the planet abd ourselves ever again? Cool.

An adhocracy exists when those running your country have no plan and act on instinct. Killing an elderly dictator who's replaced by a younger, more dangerous dictator, for example. Bombing a country without considering the consequences for the global economy, or the likely retaliation by its allies.

That definitely affected tours after the worst of the pandemic. NZ's small and widely dispersed population also doesn't help, and some international acts only play Auckland or Wellington.

11.03.2026 06:52 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

That's right. And apparently a lot of acts have recently curtailed the Aus/NZ leg of their tours, effectively making the NZ portion even less economically viable.

11.03.2026 05:44 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I have a theory that a shortage of suitable venues isn't the reason international acts sometimes skip NZ on their tours. Are local promoters willing to pay a premium to compensate acts for their additional travel, accommodation and other expenses? If not, flashy new stadiums won't help.

Queenstown-based tech entrepreneur Brian Cartmell donating hundreds of thousands to political parties Brian Cartmell, a Queenstown-based expat American, has given big donations to ACT, National, NZ First and the Opportunity party.

This kind of crap is why we need to get donations out of politics. Money is not speech. The rich do not merit more influence than the rest of us.
