Why is US GDP a relevant measure when many S&P 500 companies serve an international market?

@kenmartin.bsky.social the divide in the the democratic party is absolutely generational. Please no more 70+ year old candidates.

Looks like shit. If I wanted an overly stylized garbage UI, I would have bought a Samsung.

What is with this weird shift the keyboard does. Like it’s too wide and then narrows a bit.

Keyboard looks different in an app vs searching App Library. Not even the same typeface.

How many times do we have to hear β€œthis shouldn’t be happening in a functional democracy” before we realize in we are on fact NOT living in a functional democracy. That’s why this stuff happens, our democracy is broken.

Remembering that some people were insisting that Trump birthday card to Epstein was fake because Trump is too stupid to use the word β€œenigma”.

Brightline West might do it. Especially if they allow gambling on the train as soon as it passes the state line

Allowing right turns on red was a mistake. Drivers often honk at someone who doesn’t turn immediately, oblivious to the fact that the stopped driver is simply waiting for a pedestrian to cross.

Make other parties feasible then. The system as is revolves around a two party system.

Look what they did to Notepad. Shut the fuck up. This is Notepad. You are not welcome here. Oh yeah "Let me use Copilot for Notepad". "I'm going to sign into my account for Notepad". What the fuck are you talking about. It's Notepad.

On the principles, I think she’s right. In practice, I don’t think the conditions allow for a general strike. Democrats can’t let the blatant gerrymandering leading up to the midterms in Texas go unchallenged. Even if the risk is other red states do the same.

The US Government will be like a brand, outsourcing the actual work for private profit. It’s possible people lose faith in that brand as you bring up, but so long as the money keeps flowing and the people are kept on check, they’ll come running that playbook.

Their goal is for the government to act as the middle man between the public and the private sector. Already happening with GEO Group and their privatized ICE detention centers. It happens with the military and weapons manufacturers.

I think that assumes they even want an administrative state in government form. Their wealthy backers (Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Alex Karp, and their kind) want the the government out so the private sector can step in. The administrative state will be outsourced to the private sector.

I was deeply moved when it toasted my sourdough to a golden brown after I prompted it with a setting of 4. I always make sure to ask it for consent before cleaning out its crumb tray.
