Canada’s economy is being held back by the lack of fully accessible $10/day child care. Women and children are feeling the biggest impact.

carbon tax ghost
"Right now, we should be prepared for widespread public sentiment in Canada to be largely against this war. And I think political leaders who are seen to be siding with Trump over blown up schoolgirls and dead civilians are going to pay a political price."
here’s my take re: PMMC and Iran on power & politics today

Unlike traditional surveillance that requires humans to analyze mounds of data that spans different datasets, AI surveillance can automatically analyze vast, disparate data points — automatically and at scale without any human oversight. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/03/04/o...
Are Indian agents still interfering and spying in Canada, or not?
@supriya.bsky.social says PM Mark Carney owes Canadians an explanation after a senior government official claimed it's no longer an issue.

New story out from @cloelogan.bsky.social and me. Data centres are being planned across Ontario, with some using the same amount of electricity as 700,000 homes. Where are they? And why are communities being left in the dark?

those liberal partisans also once believed in carbon pricing, having a pro choice caucus, and standing up to hostile nations that conduct (alleged) murder on Canadian soil…
(being a liberal partisan means never having to stick to your values I guess)
Prime Minister Mark Carney cancelled what would have been his first press conference since his India trip began 5 days ago with his office citing lengthy meetings in New Delhi that have strained his schedule.
So far he has not taken 1 question from Canadian journalists on a trip that began Feb. 26.
New Canadian trade deal with India only allows for 1 assassination per year
lol yeah that’s my point! (I think we’re saying the same thing)
privately, they’re acknowledging India isn’t exactly a friend (hence the burners) but publicly they act as tho everything is now ok (esp more so now in light of comments from yesterday)
This is an important read.
Try to imagine if it was your community that PM Mark[et] Carney was willing to make less safe for the economy.

they don't really have a choice if our intel agencies are telling them everyone needs to be on burners like they were in China and publicly the Carney govt is absolutely going with the delusion that India is a friend who magically stopped doing all the things the RCMP said they were doing in 2024
here's my latest for the Star on PMMC going to 🇮🇳
"Publicly, the Carney government likes to extoll the virtues of the partnership with India. But the PMO’s own technical briefing for media going on the India trip directed everyone to bring burner phones and laptops."
www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
”The Carney government is making a choice to prioritize trade over the public safety of Canadians. That itself is bad enough. But that the government is pretending the choice doesn’t exist in order to placate India is even worse.“
Good piece by @supriya.bsky.social

“I really don’t think we’d be taking this trip if we thought these kinds of activities were continuing,” a senior government official said.
lol ok so by that logic I guess that means China no longer interferes in our democracy either since the govt took a trip there
Foreign interference from India, including transnational repression, has been going on in Canada since the 1980s. It did not stop last week. You can agree that stabilization of relations is important with India is important, while not believing this BS. www.thestar.com/politics/fed...

Modi does not want diplomacy with Canada, Modi wants Canada to stand down and to have India skirt any real accountability from Canadian authorities. And under Carney, the Canadian government seems more than willing to allow just that. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/02/20/o...

Jivani represents the people of Bowmanville-Oshawa North, which is all well and good, but that in no way means he has any authority or legitimacy whatsoever in negotiating with the US on a file as complicated and multifaceted as Canada-US trade. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/02/12/o...
