Evangelical "End Times" and Rapture Christians - like most of those who are running the US government right now, and those cheering for a war in Iran - think that the credits are the whole point of a movie. The rest of us are living for the movie itself.

They know that losing political power would invite real scrutiny and accountability.
So the goal is simple: rig the conditions of the election, retain control, and consolidate power rather than face the consequences of their actions.
Most people are underestimating how aggressively this regime is organizing to suppress votes ahead of the midterms.
For the far right, winning them is existential.

I suspect those pastors are either full-on MAGA or they are mostly silent right now for fear of being labeled too "political."
Either way, the damage has been and is being done.
Countless evangelical pastors spent decades telling their church members that "both sides" were equally bad, and that abortion was the only issue that mattered, and that Christians had to take a "third way" in politics.
The refusal to learn from that history and the people who lived it is one reason for the rise of authoritarianism in the U.S. today.
