What can happen is that if some device on your network keeps joining as a new device, it will use up all your DHCP reservations. The next device that tries to join will then be stuck. Rebooting the router will often fix that, at least for a while (if the problem is still there it will come back).
@davemark.com My bet on Newton saving Apple is that it has to do with ARM licensing. Apple bought a company that had a really good license that enabled Apple to make Apple Silicon.
