I can't compete with this.
I can't compete with this.
I did not share the original story because my gut was that the sourcing was dubious. Someone who knows more about the sole source confirms that skepticism. Don't fall for clickbait, read the piece linked below.
(If the story is confirmed by other outlets, that's another thing. But ... it's not)
Were you able to find last year's rate? I also was surprised at the percentages I saw with my decline but have nothing to compare it to.
Rewatched it recently and it is hilariously prescient, Jonathan Pryce has so many analogues today it's wild
this is so much worse than I expected it could be just reading the words

"The computer cannot find out so the computer must not be allowed to fuck around."
Giving it control of kinetic weapons or nukes seems like a way to find out. See the popular film:
Dying at the idea that the Pentagon gave Dario Amodei a hypo that was essentially the dril woke sniper tweet
Community meme: I CAN EXCUSE FASCISM. BUTI DRAW THE LINE AT MERCANTILISM.
The Supreme Court:
It was transforming the biggest NFL stage in the world into a sugar cane plantation that did it for me.
Like, the multiple layers of turning an American icon into a plantation and highlighting the history of exploitation of Black and Brown bodies by the NFL and American colonialism simultaneously?
But being a teenager and going somewhere just to listen and learn and eat and dance and celebrate and mourn with our hosts, it was life changing, and Bad Bunny brought those memories from the recesses of my mind right back to my body tonight
I still remember the idiotic complaints of some of the people I went with, whining we didn't build anything because that was their white saviour understanding of what mission trips so.
in high school I went on two mission awareness trips, one to Cuba, one to El Salvador. the purpose of those trips was to be in community with and listen to the experiences of Christians where we went. the sense memories that show provoked have wrecked me head to toe
america could be such a cool fucking place if weβd just let it be
Image of Bad Bunny giving his Grammy to young Liam from Minnesota.
Cause that's what heroes do.
I think one of the best things about Bad Bunnyβs performance is that it was so *specific*. It so clearly had a point of view coming from real lived experience and actual emotion, actual heart, not cynical calculation. Just beautiful.
Get in, losers, weβre taking back motherfucking βGod bless Americaβ
I was not expecting to tear up at this half time show
oh the histrionics tomorrow are going to be incredible to witness

If only any left wing politician in Canada could locate a copy!
I'm not going to post screenshots for obvious reasons but I have been alerted that a bunch of the top posts in r/MassiveCock are anti-ICE now and anyone who defends ICE in comments is getting yelled down lol
totally agree - what sold me was the wild shaping chase sequence. fully captured the fantasy that wildshape generates when you first read about it
A picture of the Mary Tyler Moore statue in downtown Minneapolis, depicting the iconic moment from the show where she throws her hat in the air. But the hat has been covered over with a protesters cardboard sign, reading βFUCK ICE.β
On a downtown street in Minneapolis, as people stream out from the massive march, Mary Tyler Moore says βfuck ice.β
Whenever people complain about the Oscar nominations this is ultimately what they are complaining about. Either they hate that the industry has recognized a production that was huge but not artistic or they hate that films they've never heard of are getting nominations. This is our 98th year of this
If you want to get even more critical about it you could go back to the first Oscars where they had two categories, one for big impressive productions and one for expressive artistic achievements
I could keep going back to the days of Airport, Doctor Doolittle, and Cleopatra! In the era of 5 nominees it wasn't an every year thing and every year Hollywood would complain that people weren't watching the Oscars because the nominees weren't huge earners. It's part of why they expanded the field!
