Thank you for highlighting the plight of 1k users a day. This is a vital, free alternative to the nearby ferry & DLR & used by shift workers to Tate & Lyle, young people at Woolwich schools, students at Uni of East London, ppl who shop in Woolwich & cycling commuters from the south.

We agree, but itβs not just a TfL issue. The gaps in our planning data are systemic.

A map of Greenwich with shaded areas in green, yellow and orange, a legend is on the right hand side of the page
Weβre very disappointed to see no evidence of Greenwich foot tunnels on this map. And these should be embedded in local transport policies. The cable car (which does feature) is not the best way for cyclists and wheelers to travel.

Yellow background with dynamic orange arrows and tape. Bold black text reads 77%. Underneath it text reads: 77% of disabled people said poor surfaces - pavement cracks, potholes, tree roots etc - made it difficult or dangerous to walk or wheel.
We should all be able to move through our streets freely and safely, but barriers like broken pavements, street clutter and missing dropped kerbs make it difficult for many of us.
Itβs time for streets that work for everyone. Learn more about the issues on our site: https://bit.ly/4oWaHCu

Of note, lifts donβt work well in these blocks of flats. My guess is that the contractor Precision Lifts (contract signed in 2018 for Β£12 million) carries out this work. Theyβre also in charge of the foot tunnel liftsβ¦. @escalatenow.bsky.social .

Itβs great that these people gave up their time but they were rarely deployed where they were most needed:Greenwich DLR (which needs a clean up at the exit). We highlighted this to the chief executive #VisitGreenwich @royalgreenwich.bsky.social

How is it that one of the lifts at the Woolwich Foot Tunnel has been out of service since August 2022?
