After several *recent* breakdowns Greenwich north lift working but for how long??Why should people with a disability, parents with prams etc have to deal with this unreliability? Do they get in that lift or not, will it break down when they’re in it? @sebdance.bsky.social @london.gov.uk

Thank you for highlighting the plight of 1k users a day. This is a vital, free alternative to the nearby ferry & DLR & used by shift workers to Tate & Lyle, young people at Woolwich schools, students at Uni of East London, ppl who shop in Woolwich & cycling commuters from the south.

We agree, but it’s not just a TfL issue. The gaps in our planning data are systemic.

We’re very disappointed to see no evidence of Greenwich foot tunnels on this map. And these should be embedded in local transport policies. The cable car (which does feature) is not the best way for cyclists and wheelers to travel.

No foot tunnels here 👇 in the Local Plan for @royalroyal.bsky.social who wants us to ‘help shape the future’. We’ve been through the Plan itself - did we miss something or have these crucial cross river links been overlooked?

Of note, lifts don’t work well in these blocks of flats. My guess is that the contractor Precision Lifts (contract signed in 2018 for £12 million) carries out this work. They’re also in charge of the foot tunnel lifts…. @escalatenow.bsky.social .

About 50 Woolwich tunnel users were very eager to sign our petition tonight,some were off to do a night shift at Tate & Lyle or students on their way back from Uni of East London,some to shop in Woolwich (nothing on north side).A user phoned Greenwich council, was told ‘no money, no resources’.
