As the fake national crisis in LA was fanned by the emerging police state last week, I entertained a childhood friend who, once we had a short break in the weather around Anchorage, accompanied me on a flight to the Knik river, where I maneuvered & camera-coached for this soon-to-be framed-print:

I'm certain that the aircraft involved are N-numbered (US registration) airliners owned/operated by a US charter company and crewed by US FAA certificated pilots; therefore US law and aviation regulations fully apply to their operation anywhere. And so the excuse, as usual, is utter B.S.

As a professional pilot holding US FAA pilot certificates, I'm pretty sure that US Federal regulations & law apply to US registered aircraft & US certificated crew operating anywhere in the world. I hope the charter operator and crew are held accountable for ignoring the court order.

Monday, 3/10, passing the 20,320' #Denali summit at 32,000', an hour later crossing the #BrooksRange for Utqiagvik/Barrow with a load of crated refurbished rotor blades for the Arctic Borough's search & rescue helicopter, atop a shipment of heavy timbers, followed by the usual stuff of air cargo.

I was neglecting serious photography while living in Kayenta and flying fixed wing air-ambulance flights for most of that year, albeit from Chinle due to reconstruction of Kayenta’s runway.
