Side note: I used “Talmudic law” because that’s phrasing anti-Semites use. However, the more accurate word is “Halakhah,” which, just like “sharia” means, “the way/path.” It refers to law as practiced, while the Talmud’s discussions usually don’t actually come to legal conclusions.
Just as no one other than anti-Semites are saying that Talmudic law is taking over America, the same is true regarding Sharia.
Regarding the disgusting canard about Muslims trying to impose sharia law: the “basis” is the recognition of sharia courts’ rulings as legally binding arbitrations.
This is no different than the legal recognition of a Beis Din’s Halakhic rulings.
No one is being compelled to follow sharia law.

There was MUCH less evidence for antisemitism from Mamdani than there is from Platner, but the fact that some Jews had concerns led Mamdani to do lots of Jewish outrage, meet with Jews, go to synagogues, and such. Platner is notably not doing that.
It’s not that, it’s looking bad on TV in response to questions. Bondi was just as bad but 45/47 liked her non-answer insults, which makes all the difference to him.
Also: clearly the prime reason is looking bad on TV, not having snappy responses to congressional questioning. Bondi’s responses were just as bad, but her insulting non-answers looked good to 45/47.
