The two big historical events in the magical world are when the first Magical Society was created (1843) and when second Magical Society™️ split off from the original (1918).

Since there aren't many (or really any) magicians around over the age of 300, most history has been lost.

The MC's BFF can't, her boyfriend can't, a few minor characters can't, and none of the villains can.

The MC had her life turned upside-down because of magic, since she's very science oriented and didn't believe in "nonsense."
