Microsoft has a new plan to prove what's real and what's AI online
A new proposal calls on social media and AI companies to adopt strict verification, but the company hasn't committed to following its own recommendations.

Speaking with @businessinsider.com, Prof. Deirdre Mulligan discussed rumors that the government may deploy the Defense Production Act (DPA) and designate Anthropic a supply chain risk.
"This is a pretty extraordinary use or potential use of the DPA," she said.

The Dragnet Era of Home Security Cameras
The devices come with a trade-off: When companies store our footage, we don't always have control over how it's used or shared.
Hany Farid featured on @wsj.com speaks on how residual data from cameras exist even if the data is deleted.
βThe longer you wait, the less likely you are to find it, because the computer will eventually reclaim that memory,β said Farid.
