Labour’s record on LGBTQ rights in Ireland is second to none. Most major progress for our community happened with Labour’s support. It’s nice not to be politically alone in delivering legislation to address these unjust historical convictions thanks to SF, SocDem, Greens, PBP and IND TDs.
It was early 2017 when I and @aoifeleahy.bsky.social as co-chairs of @labourlgbtq.bsky.social met Ged Nash TD to discuss his Bill calling for an apology from the State, that happened in June 2018. Now in June 2025 we are nearing our final goal to address pre-1993 convictions.
