I really loathe sofas.

Driving is stressful and time consuming and quite dangerous.
Sitting on a (clean, well maintained) bus or train is relaxing and you can read a book or watch the football or do some knitting.
Just think how nice it would be if there were 90% less traffic on the street you where you live.

Honestly let’s just get rid of personal cars immediately. Everyone who can walk five minutes should have a bus 4x an hour: Everyone who can’t should have a free (electric) taxi ride. If we collectively chip in what we pay for leases, insurance, petrol, MOT, road tax it would certainly be affordable.

Clean Air Zone helps contribute to early pollution victory A new report showed 99 per cent of neighbourhoods in England and Wales had lower air pollution figures.

In East London children’s lung growth improved after pollution fell, and in Bradford GP visits dropped 30% and A&E admissions 50% for heart and breathing crises.

Cleaner air saves lives. A reminder why work started in Brum under Cllr Zaffar matters.

And lest we forget, it was this package of bad behaviour that got me promoted to the top set for Latin, which is where I quite clearly belonged.

Good thread, this.
If you are in any doubt at all about electrifying your home, please cast that doubt aside.
This is the most useful contribution individual households can make to supporting both decarbonisation and the economy.
