I would add, many courtesans were TRAINED swers.
This was specially often the case for young, low-class girls who were picked up and educated to be "entertainers", "caterers", or some such, typically for high-class men.

The underlying point applies to most forms of work as well (as it's usual from Project Alex's posts) — stress, inappropriate schedules, other worries… all contribute to sleep issues.

When one has to take whatever one gets, such as in-person, full-service survival sw, all those ARE more likely.

Well, sex work is extremely hard to generalize ANYTHING about… 😅

If your schedule is "naturally chaotic", you might be able to leverage it.
If you're a content creator, you have quite a bit of flexibility in-person SWers may not.
More "well-off" SWers can just ignore requests at bad times.
Etc.
