NHS pay: Government's recommended figure is an insult to staff, says UNISON.
UNISON says the government's claim it can only afford a 2.5% NHS pay rise in 2026/27 is โan insultโ to staff.
โYet again ministers are trying to get away with giving staff a way-below-inflation pay rise."

Tory policy would deport about 5% of the UK population.
"This scale of population movement is comparable to that which happened with the partition of India and Pakistan and the foundation of the state of Israel."
Travelling up to Liverpool today for UNISON Disabled Members Conference. Really looking forward to this weekend, seeing some friendly faces and hearing all the speeches. #UNDMC25

Happy Rosh Hashanah! Shana Tova from UNISON.
I am very sad that his light is gone, but his memory will remain strong in all of us who had the pleasure to know him. Rest in peace my friend.
He will be so missed by me and many others. I looked up to him with his strength, his want to bring new members forward, including me. When I was a young member first getting involved in disabled members he welcomed me with open arms and his kindness.
Today I learned of the passing of my friend Peter Daley, a long time UNISON activist and amazing man, A doting father and a kind compassionate person. Peter was truly wonderful, funny, and a genuinely decent man. He was principled and always stood by them, I admired that a great deal.

The #PIP โU-turnโ is nothing of the sort.
As I understand it, the reforms will still be applied to new claimants, eg someone who hasnโt become disabled yet or an already disabled person who isnโt 16 years old yet.
How is that fair?
Is this seriously the best we can do as a country?
๐จ Joint statement: Unacceptable โconcessionsโ on the disability cuts will permanently divide the disabled community and must be rejected.
Its going well so far, theres always lots of people who want to attend, hopefully you can go in the future ๐
Tomorrow the Welfare Refrom fringe takes place 5.15 - 6.15 in hall 2L. The cuts proposed in the paper by our Labour Government are going to harm many disabled members, their families and our services too. Please come to the fringe if you can #UNDC25
Good Morning conference, here's hoping for a productive, respectful conference. Looking forward to meeting lots of other delegates and friends this week. #undc25
I've never taken it lightly and it's meant the world to me to stand up for members.
I'm very grateful to all the members who did vote for me and support me during the election ๐
I will be at Local Government and National Delegate Conference though. See members there. ๐
Thank you so much to those who supported me for the UNISON NEC elections.
Unfortunately I didnt win the seat, I will be taking some time to sit with that. Being on the NEC these last couple of years has been a real privilege and an honour.
Reform has shown by its words and actions that the partyโs no friend of working people,โ says UNISON general secretary Christina McAnea. www.unison.org.uk/news/2025/05...
