✅ Continue delivering compassionate, end-of-life care
The work doesn’t stop here. Hospices need financial security and I’ll keep pushing for sustained support.

Supporting Our Local Hospices
Hospices mean everything to families in Stockton, Billingham, and Norton—a light in the darkest of times. After meeting frontline staff and seeing their dedication, it was clear more funding was desperately needed.

We are taking action - we've already beaten the Conservatives record on creating spaces in our first seven months!
We're investing in rehabilitation and fixing the system they broke and delivering real solutions for safer streets and a justice system that works.
Alternatively, the Labour Government from 1997 - 2010 created 27,830 spaces.
If we want an effective justice system, we need to invest in policing, in the judiciary, and in prisons and rehabilitation. That’s exactly what Labour is doing.
The Conservatives expanded prison capacity by just 455 places in 14 years - a shocking failure that has left our justice system at breaking point.
Prisons are at 98% capacity, crime is rising, and the public has been put at risk by their inaction. They just don't take crime and justice seriously.
We've heard countless examples of the mess the country has been left in by the previous Conservative Government. Sadly, this is another example.

Stockton is on the up - with real investment, real jobs, and a stronger future ahead.

🏗️ £20 million secured for Billingham Town Centre regeneration
🚓 More policing and a crackdown on retail crime to make our communities safer
But we also know that 14 years of austerity have taken their toll, and our High Street and communities have faced real challenges. There’s still work to do - but at last, we’re seeing real reasons for optimism.

Our free specialist advice service helps families across England to work with children's services.
Families get critical support, children safely avoid the care system and savings are made for the Exchequer.

Visiting Holidays are Fun sessions in Stockton, I saw first-hand how valuable these programmes are for children and families across Stockton, Billingham and Norton.
I was asked to head back to Parliament to fight for further funding so HAF could continue - I did exactly that. /1
The King confided in me his wish that Billingham and Teesside could become a centre for the circular economy and green industry - an ambition for our area that we both share.
Excited to welcome him to Teesside in the coming weeks.
I was privileged to meet His Majesty the King at Buckingham Palace and take time to talk Teesside!
I thanked him for his steadfast commitment to the steel communities in Teesside, including to young people and apprenticeships through the establishment of the Industrial Cadets scheme.
Thanks to everyone who has raised this issue and pushed for action - we are nearly there!

I know how long residents have waited for this, and I’m pleased to see this long-overdue work finally being delivered.
- My team and I have been in constant communication with the developers to push for action and today’s site visit has confirmed that the work is progressing
- Site cabins, vehicles, and equipment are now in place, and you can already see evidence of completed remedial works across the estate
Queensgate Roads – The End in Sight!
After years of frustration with incomplete and dangerous roads, the end is finally in sight!
- Work is fully underway to resurface the roads across Queensgate and I've been assured of full completion within the next month - with a brand-new finished surface
