How should communities rebuild after disasters?

That’s something i ask myself every day as I continue the work of rebuilding one piece of public infrastructure in my own home town: Cobargo.

An amazing but terrible and sad (and cranky-making) map project. I couldn’t help but notice one of the earliest verified massacres in oz occurred on Yuin Country (my part of the world).

BREAKING: Trump and Musk just CUT funding for 9/11 survivors -- and firefighters, police, and first responders

The World Trade Center Health Program was just cut by 20% and forced to lay off staff -- and slash critical care

So much for NEVER FORGET.

it’s a very very very long and hard journey - my BS main pic is a progress shot of the emerging Cobargo Bushfire Resilience Centre - which (if everything remains on schedule) is due to open early in 2026… as I said - Long and hard work.

I’m an artist - for 5 years now I’ve been working in the disaster recovery space - my experience is - artists are sometimes (maybe all times?) the best people to tackle monumental tasks like this. We face the abyss (blank page, canvas, silence) and somehow bring something to life. Let’s goooo!

Opinion: Are wildfires caused by climate change or something else? The question is flawed Politicians have an agenda when they bring up forestry management or a Jewish space laser. They're trying to change the subject from fossil-fuel-driven climate change.

Great opinion piece from a firefighter telling it like it is -- "18 of the 20 largest wildfires in California’s history have burned since 2000. This wasn’t because of #forest management or zoning policy...What’s causing disastrous fires is our changing climate." 🌏 www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...
