How should communities rebuild after disasters?

That’s something i ask myself every day as I continue the work of rebuilding one piece of public infrastructure in my own home town: Cobargo.

An amazing but terrible and sad (and cranky-making) map project. I couldn’t help but notice one of the earliest verified massacres in oz occurred on Yuin Country (my part of the world).

I’m an artist - for 5 years now I’ve been working in the disaster recovery space - my experience is - artists are sometimes (maybe all times?) the best people to tackle monumental tasks like this. We face the abyss (blank page, canvas, silence) and somehow bring something to life. Let’s goooo!
