Don't be fooled by the label “sock yarn”—always check the fiber content! Some manufacturers use "sock" to describe weight, not durability. I learned this the hard way—knit socks with 100% merino and they wore out in a few weeks. Choose yarn with 15% nylon/polyester for strength and durability.

Although unravelling is a part of knitting, it could be really frustrating when you understand that you don't have enough yarn in the middle of the project and yarn was discontinued!
