Yeah ive been working in an office too long so i have worked hard on not saying to people " stop using Gen Ai or i will drop kick you" XD
I thinknits important for non artists Dev to be very mindfull about how they hype Gen Ai especially to artist. I find it very dismissive of the actuall process and research we do. Yesh Ai is faster but it doesnt create anything novel or with specific context.
Dont take this the wrong way but i much prefer a designer giving me a bunch of reference puctures then just giving me an AI image and telling me "make it like this but not AI"
yeah i don't play competitive game mostly single player so teh perf is not a big deal. I save my money for when the steam machine comes out ^_^

If he means some random marketing person might put an ai image on a miro board or someone accidently put a ai image they found on google on the mood board. Thats probably the extent of it IF other studios are "using" AI

What you hate is design by commitee and lack of a clear artistic vision. AC uses Anvil engin. It's terrible, but in a way a non dev cannot understand
