Really hoping the storms mostly miss us this time just in general, but also hoping for it to be pretty docile tomorrow so I can still play more Time Stranger. If not though, did make sure to get my SJ app stocked with plenty I was getting to reading next/soon.
I've always kind of half assumed this is from a timeline where Goku got there in time to stop everyone from dying. Only thing that kinda works against that is Gohan having his Namek arc hairstyle (but hey, maybe he gets a haircut anyway) and some of the power levels mentioned being too high, but eh.
Honestly, this scene actually happening in the movie might have improved it somewhat. It not being the mooks that take out everyone offscreen (making their inclusion utterly pointless) but instead being an out of control Gohan interrupting their fights probably would've been more palatable.
I'm now imagining Roshi catching the bouquet only for Bulma to beat the crap out of him before he gets any ideas.
The only explanation I can think of is that, compared to the manga where we outright don't see the wedding at all and just cut to the timeskip, here they knew they were doing an arc and wanted the focus on the newlyweds, so they just...didn't involve everyone else.
Which I sorta get, but STILL.

It happens, I had a really, REALLY bad streak of that with like...every game I tried to play for like a month and a half or more straight a while back, it freaking sucked.
More recently, I did the same with Final Fantasy X-2. Beat X, but X-2. I tried. And enjoyed parts of it. I just couldn't.

Still enjoying Digimon Story: Time Stranger, but whoo boy, I hope I can digivolve some of my lil guys to Champion soon, these early boss fights are getting rough.

It's weird, there's so many cases where Toriyama claims to not plan out his writing, and at large, yeah, you can tell he writes by the seat of his pants (and almost miraculously pulls it off 9/10 times). But other things just line up too well, he HAD to have had some idea of where he was going.
Multiple times a day I think "his organs are NOT failing quickly enough".
Whether he ever intended it in that way or not, Toriyama holding off until the third outing to give Goku the win makes it hit all the more, he's EARNED it now.
Sad to hear about this, both in general state-of-the-industry kinda way, but also because I really enjoyed your take on him in 11. Wish we were getting to hear you again, but can't blame you a bit for sticking with your principles on this one.
