For me gender has always been something impressed upon me from the outside, I've never had any internal sense of it. I wouldn't overthink it, sense of self is a "if you meet the Buddha on the road, kill the Buddha" kind of situation.

I've just run into plenty of trans people who are very much the right panel in that meme. "I'm [gender] because I have [sex trait]" or worse "because I wear [clothing item]", or believe in essentialism whether they call it by that name or not.
For sure. You'd think it would be as easy as "let people do what they want with their body and self expression", supposedly a fundamentally American ideal, but here we are.
I feel like it is not a good idea to suggest that trans people all have an innate understanding of gender and no one else possibly can. It's a system we all interact with daily, all you have to be is observant, and plenty of trans people end up with a relatively conservative understanding of it.
It's easy to interpret quote posting as dragging the conversation to friendly territory/your personal echo chamber. More of a Twitter thing but it happens here too.

back to posting stuff from norway fir a bit, from one of surprisingly few rainy days we had there.

It's possible you're thinking of Antz, things got pretty heated with them and Pixar because they were working on a bugs life at the same time and Antz beat them to market
Did we really just go right from winter weather to full humidity?
a fallen branched covered in various lichens, and some kind fungus or mold that shows as small black blobs on the surface
not sure what I'm looking at here, maybe a slime?

It seems very unlikely that school shootings are solely a white supremacy problem.
There are many systems on earth that virtually no one understands every single facet of, but plenty understand how it works in the abstract. This is like if someone told you they know how a GPU works and you said "oh yeah? Draw me a full schematic for a h200 from memory"
close up of the bark of a tree with a triangular open wound, damp from rain. a vine of ivy with a single brown leaf creeps over the top left corner.
kids like to carve stuff into this tree, which I'm not a fan of, but it does make for some interesting patterns

He's one of the only guys from the music video era who never leveled up beyond that, he makes a great music video but that's about it, he's no Jonze/McQueen
This is why I'm always telling artists that even though most open source software is harder to learn, it's worth the effort because it can't be taken from you. Got off the Adobe train a long time ago and I couldn't be happier about that decision.
wow, that's a flashback, ads for shadowman would run during the install for Machines, which was a) my jam and b) my introduction to both RTS and electronic music. The disc would also play the soundtrack if you put it in a cd player, maybe shadowman is the same?

close up of turkey tail fungus cast in golden evening light. Appears fuzzy, as if covered in tiny vellus hairs.
Love it when they get all fuzzy like this, seems to have coincided with the snow melting and temps rising.

if you like "music that would be playing at the club in a horror movie" Filmmaker excels at this, some of the best EBM out there today
One of the big problems with blocklists is you have no idea exactly who is on them or why, you're trusting a third party to make that call for you when it's often just personal beef. I don't really see the need if you follow a decent number of people and aren't hanging out in the discover feed.
gotta post these while winter is still sortof a thing, proper spring weather is landing next week and I am ready. Dunno what to tag these as, no one seems to see them. They aren't photos, but videography feeds seem more aimed at gear and techniques.
Here's your developer bro

Diffusion based noise reduction is absolutely incredible, not shocking since that was its original purpose before they realized they could feed it pure noise and it would resolve whatever they said it was an image of. Runs locally too, no gas turbine data center required.
I haven't followed godot development for a while, I get it defeats the purpose but can I ask who "you know who" is? I've generally been pretty impressed with the core team there, shame if things are going that way.
there's so little Secede in the world it feels really special to find one I didn't know about, even if it's a remix

No daylight in their bunkers, and every bunker needs an air intake so we can probably do something about the second part too
