what is the largest animal you are confident you could expel, singlehandedly, from a medium-size bookshop?

RULES:
- you have no resources beyond what is available in the shop
- you must remain more or less uninjured
- bookshop has 2 floors; animal is on ground floor, you can choose where you begin

Happy International Women's Day. It's seven years since Jim Davidson couldn't find the apostrophe on his keyboard and didn't know how to spell "international" or "bye".

I was gobsmacked to hear the lines I delivered for my mothers eulogy by a friend on Monday - the audacity to not even ask to use the same structure & sentiment right down to the same words -so I can imagine how you must feel😩

Of course, Britain has a fine tradition of excellence when it comes to curling.

Dad's fess: when I was a kid, my rabbit died. He replaced it and didn't tell me. Years later, that rabbit died too. I cried for hours. "You didn't cry this much when the first rabbit died." he said, trying to comfort me. "What do you mean when the first rabbit died?" - horrorfied

I always think of that classic line (she’s wearing a shellsuit snaping the waist band) in Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies - ‘they’re a real boon - you can be bare arsed in seconds’

A reader‘s letter in the times which reads as follows:

Old adversaries
Sir, Your obituary (Jan 19) of Mr Justice Blofeld rightly referred to his fine sense of humour. When he first sat in Winchester a barrister called Richard Bond stood up to open the first case. Mr Justice Blofeld began to stroke the white ermine on the sleeve of his High Court judge's robes as if stroking a cat. He then said with a smile: "We meet at last, Mr Bond."
