Dancer in the Dark is an amazing movie, but it is not a comfortable watch. I recommend it to friends, but have to explain that you have to be in a very specific head space to enjoy it.
My favourite monster for a long time has been the Aboleth. Cthullu weirdness and horror dnd style.

This game had such an impact on my teen years that 25 years later I still find myself humming the end credit theme at random times during the day.
