I would give it five stars, definitely. It was one of the best ballets I have ever seen. I don’t agree with the criticism. I liked the understated “under developed” choreography for Mary. It felt raw and real I think 🤷🏻♀️
Scottish Ballet’s Mary Queen of Scots was absolutely superb and sublime. Loved the costumes, the staging and (of course) the dancing.
My only regret is not getting a full programme after reading in several reviews how informative it is.

I sneak looks at my daughter for the same reason. Her reaction moves me.
I sadly missed the cinema of Giselle and haven’t seen that cast yet. Hoping to catch an encore.
I’ve seen two casts in this run so far and they danced it so beautifully differently.

I really don’t like football, but I ended up at Dear England the other evening and was suprised by how much I absolutely loved it!
Such an uplifting, inspiring and entertaining play. Well worth seeing.

I went to the Omo Valley in 2016 and camped alongside tribes. This is a very mild rite of passage… I am still slightly haunted by what I saw.

It’s not a thing in other countries though. My daughter donated her plasma the other week. It’s illegal to donate for money in the UK.
As a ballet mother, my mind instantly went to the other type of buns 😆 I’m glad I read on an clarified as I’d not heard of this as a day before.

Last night, Calvert’s twig went awry sadly on the throws causing angst from so many audience members as it fell so awkwardly for the corps.
I’d like to say the audience at the ROH are better informed, and they will at least know it’s either an opera or a ballet, but some people are just there to be seen or on company bought tickets.
Which is what it always was I suppose! A place to be seen.
This production of Giselle is just amazing. I was so moved by both the rehearsal and the opening night. I now want to see other casts….
I have tickets for that soon. It’s my younger daughter’s favourite (and dream) company. I am looking forward to it immensely. Glad it was stunning!
Last night, first half of Giselle in the stalls and the second in the Amphi and it was simply sublime dancing from Nunez and Bracewell. Nela cried real tears of betrayal, which truly moved me, and then she showed her Prince what true love is.
An ovation for Sir Peter Wright.

It was a wonderful evening last night. I was awake early this morning re playing moments of it in my head. Nunez danced supremely brilliantly.

A privilege to watch the first half of RBO Giselle Friends Rehearsal in the Director’s Box, and the second half at the front of the balcony. I had one of the best mornings of my life and now rather regretting gifting my tickets for the opening night to my daughters 🩰 👻

My favourite for ballet in that theatre is front stalls (ballet dependent) or front circle, and then front balcony for opera. But we ended up at the very back of upper balcony and I had a kicker behind me 🤦🏻♀️

I’d like to see more detail visually next time, although the music and singing was just amazing.
Rather sadly, I had to exchange three carefully chosen good seats for The Marriage of Figaro to two less good seats.
And it was still so sublimely marvellous that I didn’t care…much 😆
