I imagine then the poor babies get lots of ego-stroking from their Twitter pals about their rough treatment on Bluesky. So glad I'm not on the Nazi hellsite any more.

One is a cute woolly thing which is a mostly harmless evolutionary cul-de-sac, and the other is an alpaca
What's a bank note?
Wash, little pot, wash. But you must also say: stop, little pot, stop.
Great image, and great article. In my academic field, when we draw a diagram like that, it suggests levels of dependency or hierarchy between the different circles - that truth is central, and embodiment depends on truth, and power depends on embodiment, etc. Is that your intention in this diagram?

I made a meme! Please share it and make me happy today. π
So pleased that you're coming to Greenbelt Festival in August! Always the highlight of my year in any case, but will be made still more special by (hopefully) getting to hear you speak.
Thank you! Really wanted to see that when it was on. In case anyone reading this hasn't clicked through to the article, it's only free for one week (12-18 March).
This looks lovely. Available for free for *one week only* (12-18 March). Direct link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=obX-...
Hope it's going well. I know at least two colleagues from my school who are there. I also did my module chairing course after being a chair for years, but did find it really helpful!
Misogyny is surely one part of it. No doubt there are plenty of badly written romance novels, but there are also plenty of badly written crime or sci-fi novels. There are no prizes for reading, only pleasure.
The same sort of people used to make the same complaint about Harry Potter. On those grounds they were wrong too - the chief difference is that Rick Riordan hasn't (afaik) declared himself to be a massive bigot and funder of bigots.
I've read so American management books which began as strong Harvard Business Review articles and became tedious 80k books.
Thanks. What a set of titles and author list! A table of contents to chill the heart.
PS. Social climbing being what it is: my great-grandparents came from very close to what is now Anderston station, right in the centre of the map.
I liked it in the sense of "it's interesting" rather than "it's great". But it's true that I grew up in the on the western end of that line (beyond the map indeed). My father was diagnosed with cancer at age 78, died the following year, and said that at least he'd outlived the avg G'gow male.
If you hadn't included the actual screengrabs I'd have assumed those were parodies. Rather less than zero self-awareness.
Westminster Meeting House raided by Metropolitan Police again. Statement: βFor Quakers, faith and action are inseparable. Peaceful protest, prayer and nonviolent action are integral parts of many Quakers' religious life. Whilst we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place. This raid is part of a systematic stifling of dissent. That this is the second time in a year that the police have raided our meeting house dramatically illuminates the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government. The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy. It's a key part of how people make their voices heard between elections.β β Oliver Robertson, Head of Witness and Worship Quakers in Britain, 5 March 2026
Yesterday evening, for the second time in a year, the Met Police raided Westminster Quaker Meeting House and arrested a number of young nonviolent activists.

When I was briefly a geology student, a long time ago, one of the favourite jokes on field trips was: "when is a dyke not a dyke? when it's a sill".
Row of daffodils in front of university building, blue sky in the background
Gorgeous rows of daffodils in the sun on the Open University campus today.
This is so hideous. These chat bots all need to be shut down, or at least used by NOBODY of any moral integrity.
They write about their bots "creating" and "generating" things when their bots open the jar of baby food and spoon it into their mouths. Also occasionally the baby food contains broken glass and novichok.
Even in wartime he could be appalling, worst of all being the Bengal famine, but also the firebombing of Dresden and other German cities.
BBC gonna BBC.
The βsilent majorityβ has now been tested more than once. And when it is summoned to the ballot box, it turns out the majority isnβt silent. And it isnβt Reform.

Thank you for your work in manifesting this outcome.
What we have seen in Gorton and Denton is what we saw in Caerphilly in October.
A lot of people really donβt want the hateful politics of Reform and will work hard and smart to try and keep them out.
Labour must now listen to this and stop the grim attempts to mimic Farage.
Not sure if that's a joke, but in case it's not: it's the name of an old village within the area. Nothing to do with the economists, though I do often think of them. (For what it's worth, I don't live in MK, just work there.)
It's very good as a place to work (as I have for a long time) and cycle around. And most of those who live there really like it.
HAPPY OU ANNIVERSARY! Today marks 60 years since the βUniversity of the Airβ White Paper paved the way for the @OpenUniversity - and I am proud, with Milton Keynes as host city, to celebrate Jennie Lee and Harold Wilsonβs vision for access to learning.
