Was that about Iddo Netanyahu (brother)?
Or, is this new?

Agreed. A cracking line up!
Some really exciting wines. Some new producers for me too.
An an ex wine retailer, I like a nicely βfaced upβ display, but deep down I can really vibe with this French merchantβs approach to displaying his productsβ¦.
PS. His only concession to the non French wine word were several excellent bottles of Port. #Wineπ·π·
The dog insisted that we swing by the local pub for a snack after her walkβ¦. A couple of pint later and Iβm chucking risotto together for the kids with a passable Β£20 supermarket Barolo!
Have got the day off tomorrow tooπ
Well, you couldnβt be doing that pre mod morning breach!!!
Impromptu is always best..
Rioja is definitely on a roll! Plenty of variation. Ever increasing innovation.
Am looking forward to spending Monday with about 40 producers in London (thank you Mr Atkin).
Will give it a go next time Iβm in town!
Come one then!
Iβve just spent two hours in a βcraft beer pubβ.
Am gagging for a decent pint of Vitamin G.
Where is the best pint in London?
Good pub? Recommend?
Obviously, the company was first rate.
Iβve given up being horrified by the price of beer in the Metropolis. Β£17.90 for two pints of Bermondsey brewed loveliness in The Bear about 20mins ago!!!
More glitter is rarely a bad thingβ¦
Interesting, but even in good order, it isnβt exactly a βmass appealβ pieceβ¦.. good luck to them though.
Hungerford antique shops are the best.
Pitty them Johnny.
Some belittle, some celebrate.
Rise above the sneering bitter brigade!
We have a full day of Curling, Snow Boarding and Ice Hockey to look forward to tomorrow. Iβm a bit hazy on the rules of all three tbh, but we wonβt let ignorance get in the way of a good time.
Nothing worse than a wine that tries too hard βΉοΈ.
Spotted the post earlier and was wondering if Iβd missed something! All makes sense now (other than the wine).
Iβm in Bristol from time to time for work will give The Old Duke a try.
Love a good pub!
In Barolo terms, it is entry level.
Needs a bit of time then it is an enjoyable drop.
Concentration and complexity comes at a much higher price.
Always open to a better value recommendation though.
By way of an update. After a couple of hours open, this was seriously good wine. Plenty going on. Concentrated, but not too overpowering.
Have got a case incoming along with 6 of its big brother and 6 of their regular Nebbiolo (both untastedπ€π€). These should provide good drinking for a few years.
A splendid read!
Wish there was a half way house between Freeloader and Locked In Subscriber.
Iβd happily stump up the price of a pint after enjoying an article, but am far less willing to leave my card behind the bar in perpetuity.
First visit to a Vagabond since Majestic jumped in. Monday night in Birmingham and busy. 100 wines on self service. Tapasy food not dreadful.
The rent on this place must be crippling, but hope that they are here to stay.
Off to the Shakespeare now for a proper pint!
Some very canny shopping there!
My local Co-op sells the CVNE Res 2019 for about Β£23. Absolute bargain.
Have never tried the M&S sherry, but will certainly give them a go at those prices.
Yes. Any thoughts on rough prices?
Cracking branding.
Might even grow a beard!
The dog will also be pleased.
Good luck.
Result! Thank you Waitrose. 1/3 off!
The Barolo is a bit of a shot in the dark, but the other two are solid performers.
Demonstrating admirable restraint, only five bottles were purchased.
Thus atoning for last nightβs guilty 3am Brunello shoppingβ¦β¦
Happy to grid that particular axe. Ridiculous!
Agreed. I made a conscious effort to explore the No alcohol section of the Wine Fair. Some tidy non-grape based efforts.
Apparently, oxidisation is a big issue. You get a glass or two that tastes as the maker intended; then a collapse into limp dull yuckiness. Lovely people, but Iβm not a fan.
Brunello and festive mince pies.
A food/wine pairing forged in hell.
Agreed. Palo Cortado is a splendid tipple. I generally have a bottle of Pedroβs on the go (also from Waitrose).
Full, fresh and a bit unruly!
Any other PC recommendations greatly appreciated.
My initial thought was - but those are only half measuresβ¦..
On being diagnosed as diabetic in the 80βs, my long dead uncle (french) was told by his doctor βno more than 3 or 4 glasses of wine per dayβ.
He was distraught!π«π·π«π·π·π·
It could be that they just enjoy winding up their French and Italian chums?
Always a favourite for a summer afternoonβ¦β¦
About a month ago, I had an illuminating taxi ride; where I learned that our royal family hale from a violent Danish chap a long long time agoβ¦
Youβve got to love a London Cabbie. This guy could have won Mastermind at a light trot.
I was almost happy to pay the Β£40 for a 3 mile rideβ¦.
Wow. That is news to me. Eels used to be everywhere!
95% reduction in 40 years in the UKβ¦.
