Update: Have had life problems come up lately which have taken up my time. Audio is still being worked on, looking for a voice for Lily, obviously hampered by holiday season. Have a happy new year if possible.

Just an update: sound work is still in progress. Otherwise I have been taking a break, and will likely continue to do so. It's very frustrating getting alot of work done on a project and not being mentally able to just jump into the next one right away.

Also: I spent 18 hours (!!!) on a thing you don't even SEE in this shot: hair. The intent was to make a generalized lookdev setup in USD for Lily that I could use to just plop her in scenes for future shots and have less setup to do. Having tried it out already -- still needed more setup x_x
Thanks McDead. This chart shows the breakdown of hours spent per week on it, starting mid-August. 283 hours spent on a single shot is not ideal, but did *technically* get me more bang for my buck this time, and *technically* I got it done faster than the last one. Need faster tho

That release of that Lily stomp video is coming soon, by the way. Rendering was an absolute pain (almost certainly my fault), just waiting on sound. I'm considering doing a re-render of it once it's out.

Here's an old animatic I made a year ago. It ultimately morphed and mutated into the Irma Kick video I released a few months ago after scoping down. I'd like to make stuff like this ideally, something more sequentially than just a single shot.

Smoke sim is a-workin' and a-twerkin'
Next I'll need to debug a couple cloth sim caches, get my animated camera in there, then see what more I can do with lighting and background.
This node network contains all the functionality from fracturing a building, to destroying it, to adding smoke. About a month of work, on and off to get it running right. Most time was spent trying to figure out handling the foot-grinding part. Still not done yet!
Smoke sim progress. The smoke sim is much too low-res for my preference (and also doesn't react to the environment), but it's also the only version that didn't crash mid-way through.

If there was one thing I'd want to do and just keep doing, it'd probably be the animation. In my situation I do not have that luxury however. I'm okay with this though, since I've always wanted to be able to do alot of different things regardless.
