Normally comforting and warming on a cold day....ugh, just so unsatisfying. Oats should get creamy and soft (note, I don't buy the quick-cook kind). If I wanted a lot of texture and work I'd just buy steel cut oats instead. (even THEY get creamy!) 🤷‍♀️

I've been making oatmeal with rolled oats in the micro since I was a kid....this is the most disappointing bowl ever. Looks like rest of this is getting relegated to baking.

Trying to make oatmeal like I usually do (it's cold this AM) but am I crazy? Do the Trader Joe's rolled oats ever get soft? (we usually gets the mom's best brand) I've had my 1:2 oats:water in the microwave for like 6 minutes at this point and the oats are practically raw? Never had this happen 😱

Honestly, I am absolutely disgusted by academics suggesting that AI can do the reading and writing for you. At a certain point, what you're bragging about is fraud. And in a broader sense, what you're contributing to is the erosion of knowledge and the destruction of trust in academic publishing.

The abstract is the ABSOLUTE LAST thing you should delegate to anyone or anything else. Not an RA, not an AI, not your colleague down the hall, no one.

If you—YOU PERSONALLY—can't explain your article well enough to write a good abstract, you don't understand it well enough to publish it.

Absolutely. So many of my clients treat the abstract as a nothing burger.
It should include some info to introduce the reader to the topic, current knowledge gap, study goal(s), brief descriptions of methods and results, the overall conclusions, and broader implications of the findings.

I don't want to be dramatic, but there is a sucking suspicion of having your life wasted. Not your personal life, but the opportunity to live in a better world that you were willing to work to achieve.

"Curbing spending" is the phrase of the day....my guy my spending has been curbed for years. After rent/insurance/bills I have nothing left.

All of this. As a reader, idk if I'd want someone else's thoughts coloring/obscuring my own if I'm reading a book that affects me that much (which is rare for me anyways). To me, it's putting literary criticism where it doesn't necessarily need to be. All books don't need it. A book can just be fun.
