Fun fact! Even though they are associated with summer, key limes are a late fall/winter fruit.I have a key lime tree in my yard. They start ripening mid to late November. My kiddo is a December baby and asks for key lime pie made with our limes for her birthday every year.

One of my utmost favorites is Spiritfarer. It's part puzzle, part cozy management game. It does deal with dying and death and there were a few spots where I ugly cried. But it's such a beautiful game with a gorgeous soundtrack. It got me through the pandemic and I replay it frequently.

As a Californian with a partner who works in state government, it's been very frustrating watching everyone be like "praise Daddy Newsom." Meanwhile, dude has checked out of doing any true work for his state. Everything he's doing currently is a calculated move for the presidential office.

I just celebrated my 21st wedding anniversary with my husband. We cooked a lovely meal together then had what we call a bistrot date. We let the kids eat whatever they wanted, wherever they wanted and we took our fancy little meal to a quiet room, turned on soft music, lit some candles, and enjoyed.

We stayed like that for the remainder of the song, and in that brief moment, I was reminded of how rich my life is. I realize I am privileged. I realize not everyone has the luxury to revel in small things like this. I'm lucky I can and it certainly gives me the strength to keep fighting.

None of them are particularly partial to classical music (they don't dislike it, but they don't seek it out), but they're all standing there, transfixed. My 13 year old, who hasn't been super cuddly for years, is now on the couch, head on my shoulder. And it was just such a beautiful month. (4)

As we're sitting there, enjoying a feast of sight and sound (Claire de Lune is one of my favorite classical pieces), I notice all of the kids (my 2, my niece, her friend) have started to migrate to where we're sitting. (3)

Reminiscent of olden days, when we were young and dating and we'd watch the WinAmp visualizer for hours while cuddled up, talking. Yes, I realize this dates me. (2)

Last night, I was lucky enough to revel in a glimmer. My partner and I were sitting in my front room, listening to Claire De Lune, while watching his visualizer screen saver. (1)
