Electric cars accounted for 25.1% of all new car sales in the UK last month.
You'd think this was a cause to celebrate.
But car industry body SMMT claims it's only because of "heavy manufacturer discounting".
Meanwhile, in Norway >90% of new car sales are EVs...

Sources say Ministers are considering options to increase demand for electric vehicles. This is a good thing. The smartest thing to do -politically & economically- is NOT to cut VAT (a subsidy to middle class EV drivers) but to make EVs accessible to lower income families by subsidising leasing.
