Recognizing Music House Workers United will help to cultivate an atmosphere of transparency and trust among the Music House workforce as we work together to make Music House an awesome place for its students to learn. Music House management has repeatedly stated that they would like teachers to provide open and honest feedback about our jobs. Due to the inherent power imbalance between an employer and its employees, many individuals are uncomfortable doing so. The union allows teachers to speak freely with peers and decide collectively how to best bring our concerns to studio management. We believe that a union is the best way for teachers to represent our own interests while simplifying the process of communicating our wants and needs to Music House management.

To Music House Management, A Majority of Music House’s Teaching Artists have signed union cards expressing their intent and desire to collectively negotiate a work contract with Music House. We are asking that you voluntarily recognize our union, and we have made this ask public. If Music House agrees to recognize our union, we ask that you agree to enter into contract negotiations immediately. We’ve appreciated Music House management’s willingness to work with its employees in creating an environment that’s supportive of both its students and teachers. We would like to formalize that process by entering into a collective bargaining agreement with Music House as Music House Workers United, an independent union made up of Music House employees.
