The heroic @ellatholmes.bsky.social and @kateorman.bsky.social have read
more than 200 stories. Itβs epic. Itβs fantastic. Itβs inspiring! I think you guys need a hug, and a nap.
@phenomenapress.bsky.social need your love and help and in return you'll get an awesome book or other goodies! Sounds like a bargain to me. I've bought my copy. #queerwriters www.kickstarter.com/projects/meg...

Cover image of a book called The Collected Hulderotica Year One, written by Kaya Skovdatter. Background is a figure in a shadowed figure in a scarf and dress, holding an umbrella. Their face too is covered in shadow, only two unnerving points of light shining out of that darkness. Around the figure is a lush, overgrown forest painted in a variety of greens, and before them is a rock-edged forest pool with the figure's reflection cast in its green-tinged surface. The title is overlaid against the cover image, its text matte white.
Also, The Collected Hulderotica Year One pre-orders are on sale ($3.95 USD/$5.25 CAD). The book's out 03/17. 160k of deeply queer (trans, pan, poly, etc.) romance/erotica+ in the vein of Lost Girl/Sanctuary/Supernatural.

OK but WHICH dragons and lesbians???
I don't mean things that are already book covers, I mean, just randomly finding art online and thinking "yeah, that's a vibe I need in my life".
Does everyone look at gorgeous artwork and go "I want to read the book that tells THAT story?" I bet we do.
All declines for the anthology are out now EXCEPT for stories received in the last 2 days of the call. If you haven't heard from us and your story was submitted more than a couple of days ago, you're in our round two.
Submissions are now CLOSED for the first Scylla Publishing anthology :) We are humbled (and a tiny bit scared) that there were 211 submissions for this book, and we have some work ahead!! Thank you to everyone who submitted, talked about, promoted or did anything to help this process!
Small reminder that we have ONE MORE DAY of subs on our first anthology, and that we are in Australia so Feb 28th comes fasterβ¦ ππ
Iβll allow it :) πππ
This thread is both amazing, and dangerous (to your TBR pile!) #booksky
This is just Duosuma warning folks we are closing subs in three days! (Exciting!)
That is shockingly on point. Wow.
Add βcontemporary fantasyβ to that list too.
We are so excited about things heating up over at Scylla! Authors, anthologies, writing, marketing, oh my! Canβt wait to tell you all whatβs happening. β€οΈπ
Not selling it yet! :) just some stuff for us to wear and hand out at book fairs.

Scylla Publishing has merch!! Itβs very exciting.
Scylla Publishing book bag that says βMagical Sapphic Differentβ and a stack of paperback books with the program for Melbourne Bookfair.
Spent the day being inspired by the Aussie talent on display at Melbourne Bookfair and met the delightful @amiekaufman.bsky.social and @firecatz.bsky.social - meeting Isobelle Carmody was all my childhood introverted bookworm dreams come true. Bought too many books Iβm now lugging back to Sydney.
Ummβ¦sold!
Are you an editor with a great idea for a Sapphic anthology? We are open for submissions for anthologies until the end of March 2026. www.scyllapublishing.com/author-submi...

Well, we are in the final days! If you're still polishing up a story for the anthology now's the time :) #queerwriters #writingsky www.scyllapublishing.com/anthology-su...
Lil before-bed request to check out my fashion + space opera anthology!! Would be really grateful for folks to back it. We are 8 days away from wrrapping up and have $4k to go.
And hoping we very soon get to the point in queer fiction where we say βthatβs not for meβ and walk past rather than going on the attack. Personally I support all queer publishing. What do you gain by ripping into one of your own?
We are also allowed to like spec fic without death, hopelessness and body horror. Thatβs not a queer thing thatβs a βwhat do we like to readβ thing. And we have very specific reasons for not wanting to do it. Every publisher has their niche.
Thereβs a lot here to address. Iβm allowed to like sex without wanting to publish sheer erotica. We donβt do hard scifi and high fantasy because those ARE genres trad pubs get behind so well represented. We donβt do romantasy for same reason. Trans women ARE women I donβt need to call it out.
