Staying informed has never been more important, but in this moment, that means being particularly careful about what you accept as real—even if you think you see it with your own eyes.

“Like I said, some people will die. When you go to war, some people will die.”
That’s what the President of the United States is saying to the American people.
He won’t be hurt by a retaliatory attack or high gas prices. But you will — and that’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make.
“Propaganda scholars say this is how it works. Suggestion, not through obvious symbols, but through repetition, emotional activation, and subtle normalization”
The Trump administration's social media repurposes language and cultural references with connections to neo-Nazi and white supremacist movements.
It's content that experts say is instantly recognizable to those who are in the white supremacist know, but can be largely invisible to everyone else.
Once again, Kristi Noem and her agents tell a story about being attacked and shooting somebody in self-defense. And once again, the story collapses.
This time, the damning video didn't show up till after the shooting. How many other times have they lied where no video is available to expose them?
A bunch of March 28th #NoKings events dropped today! Milwaukee, Madison, Racine, Green Bay, Shorewood, Minocqua, and more. 📣 Keep checking www.wisconsinresist.com to find one near you! 📣
“That’s historically not how we do things,” one told me. Traditionally, “you see the evidence first and then decide what to charge; you don’t charge and then see the evidence. It’s a horrible way of doing business.”
Yes, the GOP controls Congress. That's why it's key to show Congress COULD stop the madness. And it's not just the DHS bill. Congress could repeal the prior multi-year $75b for DHS; set up a special investigative committee (cf. Watergate); amend the Insurrection Act; etc.
Need unambiguous statements of support by everyone — from Walz and Klobuchar and Smith to Schumer and Jeffries— for state and city law enforcement standing up to lawless DHS.
To repeat: Abolish ICE.
Abolish ICE.
I know votes on legislative packages often involve cross-cutting considerations, and members of Congress will have to weigh those. But if I were a member of Congress, I don’t believe I could vote for any appropriation bill that funded DHS without requiring changes in ICE and CBP practices.
"American leaders owe the public clarity about the risks they are willing to accept with any actions against Venezuela. Not assurances of quick exits, but recognition of long commitments."

“Coverups are difficult in free societies. They are routine for authoritarian governments. The Epstein coverup will be an indicator of how far we are down the road to authoritarianism. The success of such a coverup would take us much further down that road.”

Stonewalling can work. But partial coverups are difficult to manage successfully, as the Trump administration is finding out. They tend to unravel. But it’s important to yank on every loose thread to keep it unraveling.

FBI Director Kash Patel: "When you attack our nation's capital, you attack the very being of our way of life. This FBI and this DOJ stand here to tell you we will always refute it and combat it."

Hegseth's failure to deny he ordered Adm. Bradley to kill all of them makes one wonder if that order isn't memorialized in a document. In any case all relevant documents, orders, memos, records of meetings, and videos should be provided to Congress. Along with sworn testimony from all involved.
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.
If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

How low we have sunk as a country. The US Department of Defense is now run by a rabid war criminal.
Ordering the execution of helpless survivors of an attack is ALWAYS a war crime, whether they civilian or military.
Pure, mindless, barbarism.

Is there any part of the First Amendment the Trump administration isn’t happy to violate?

There is zero excuse for police, in a free society, to wear a mask.

Tonight, the evil, terrorist nation of Russia is launching ballistic missiles and drones at civilians again, like they do every night.

“Sweet. My fifteen mins of fame. Lmao.”
This is what Border Patrol agent Charles Exum allegedly texted after shooting a woman in Chicago.
“.. in a group Signal chat, .. he wrote in part: ‘I fired 5 rounds and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys.’”

If this were happening elsewhere, we'd understand right away what was happening.
It's hard to grasp that it's happening here. But it is...
