Yeah I agree. Many games these days are ever-changing so a review at any point down the line is appropriate but you have to draw the line somewhere and I think once it has a real financial cost, you should be able to make your impressions public. Once theres a consumer, there should be a review.

Treating games like an extention of the tech industry rather than a creative one is imo why they all kept doing that.

I said this a couple years ago, but the smartest thing Nintendo ever did was opt out of chasing the graphical unicorn. The average person *does not care.*

But I feel like Shinobi develops from a power-fantasy feeling game into a skill-based one over only a few hours. So comparing their reactions kinda validates some fears of mine that 1st impressions can lead me astray if I listen to them.

Listening to the Insert Credit Podcast at the same time Castle Super Beast and Versus Wolves podcasts is interesting. As they compare Shinobi: Art of Vengeance to Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, from 1st impressions, the guys who prefer skill-based games love NG and the ones who don't prefer Shinobi.
