I think it's generally a bad sign that my brain has me laugh about this and a skeet talking about johnny knoxville paddle boarding the straight of hormuz - but my brain also doesn't know what else to do.
the important thing i think is that they get comfortable now with living in federal facilities
If you want to early vote, the supersite is awesome. I planned extra time since I went after work, but they had me in and out so fast, I was 30 min early for my event.
Much easier to get on the boycott list, margarita purveyors, than it is to get off.
SURJ says don't worry, you're one of the good ones. π

It's literally just 10% of american history at this point. 100% of the current century.
A lot of people are saying 'fear' - but you'd just buy the exact one in your size and tell him how much you love them. There's something more brain damaged occurring.
I don't know which option is worse:
1. they're too dumb to buy different shoes or
2. they continue to wear them because they were a gift of favor from dear leader.
But they're absolutely stuck wearing them because now he *will* notice.
There are people who have never put anything back on a shelf because it was too expensive - and they always want to tell people who have how *they're* the ones that don't know what something costs.
Man, I've been lucky enough to never been poor by any reasonable metric, and I was pouring milk *today* remembering the time in 2007 when I was a student and my local store raised the price on a liter of milk from 1.10 to 1.30. I cut back because the price went up, and I remember it still. Please.
Oh yeah - the people you definitely have to teach about budgeting, especially for food, is poor people.
Overflow Action Day Alert: Heavy rain is expected in the Chicago area today. Reduce your use of water during and after the storm to help prevent flooding and protect water quality:
* Delay showers and baths
* Flush less frequently
* Wait to run the dishwasher or washing machine
HUGE: Alabama was set to kill Sonny Burton on Thursday. Governor Kay Ivey stopped it.
Sonny Burton did not kill anyone, but Alabama put him on death row. Ivey granted Burton clemency on March 10, commuting his death sentence to a life sentence.
Law Dork coverage:
Remember Tiffany Henyard? The embattled Mayor of a Chicago suburb that pretty much defrauded the city? She lost re-election in 2025 and moved out of the state shortly thereafter.
She landed in Georgia, became a Republican, and is now running for Fulton County Commissioner!

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.
This form of reporting makes more sense when you realize it is meant to assuage its audience. It tells its readers that theyβre not alone in wanting this to βjust be overβ and that they can drift back into the amnesia of everyday American life. That if they donβt see terror, it canβt be a problem.
Oh
ββThe constituencies that support Modi are basically the constituencies that Krishnamoorthi is trying to sort of cultivate,β said Rohit Chopra, a communication professor at Santa Clara University whose research focuses on the Hindu nationalist movement and far-right online communities.β

This disgusting shit doesnβt belong in American society.
And Republicans who support it donβt belong in Congress.
I wish I could do this with every Iranian dead as well. Itβs perverse that we kill so many people whose names we will never know and even never think about.
When you come upon this post in a thread I fear I will keep updating, spare at least a moment for them.
NEW: CPD officers made 267,240 undocumented traffic stops in 2025, an increase of nearly 27% as compared with the number of traffic stops officers made in 2024 but did not properly document for state officials, according to records obtained by me and @jaredrutecki.bsky.social for @wttw.bsky.social.

weβve had two truly enormous crises under Trump and the first one was covid which everyone apparently gave him a pass for despite the fact that he made it worse
but this one is completely, obviously, unquestionably his fault and would not have happened without him
