Some trusts are effective, but so many are not. Thank you @warwickmansell.bsky.social for your piece.

Education Uncovered | Analysis| Do DfE white paper proposals move England towards blanket academisation, or not? What an almighty mess Government seems curiously reluctant to talk about β€œacademy trusts,” preferring the less specific term β€œschool trusts”. Which makes it unclear what its intentions are.

Who's the billionaire behind London’s biggest mass eviction? He's the London philanthropist who says he's committed to solving homelessness. So why is Asif Aziz's Criterion Capital rushing to make hundreds of Londoners homeless in the coming weeks?

London’s β€œworst mass eviction in recent history” is underway; hundreds of households across London told to get out of their homes this week by the same landlord, ahead of the renters rights act. The landlord? Billionaire Asif Aziz’s Criterion Capital. www.londoncentric.media/p/asif-aziz-...

Lack of diversity among curriculum drafters β€˜deeply concerning’ Open letter with nearly 100 signatories calls for a β€˜more diverse range’ of drafters to write the new national curriculum, warning there is a risk of β€˜narrow’ content

The government should review those chosen to draft the new national curriculum because the list has a β€˜deeply concerning lack of diversity’, according to an open letter with nearly 100 signatories

Talking yesterday with people about how education in England has become too static for healthy development and about how some of the behaviour issues we see are at heart about children and young people needing to move more and be outdoors more.

Do not always send suspended students home, government tells schools Changes to England's school system say on-site suspensions should be used for non-violent behaviour.

Agree completely. Two people? Working on the entire English Curriculum? It feels as if the subject is being treated with disdain.

The universities talk a good game of student support services at Open Days, but the reality is very different once the kids get there. I'm sure the huge funding crisis doesn't help.

Part Two of the teacher professional standards.

Part Two of the teacher professional standards.

I don't honestly see how the DfE and Ofsted remaining on Twitter meets the teacher standards. Surely it's not safeguarding pupils' wellbeing or showing respect for the rights of others? Sorry to go on about it but really? πŸ˜”

Would your home have been under a motorway? "The most astonishing and destructive thing never to happen to London," says the man who has spent twenty years researching the first true map of the unbuilt Ringways.

Londoners, see what would have become of your home and why parts of the capital now look like they do.

Cambridge to make all IGCSE English literature exams open book Students already had the possibility of consulting drama texts in the exam but, in future, all Cambridge IGCSE literature in English papers will be open book, including prose

Again, iGCSEs - which aren't available to those in state schools - gain a possible advantage. While I don't disagree with open book (learning quotations is a waste of learning time), this just widens the gap and creates further inequality in an already unfair system.
