I can understand that. But it might be worth a thought - we rarely kept to formal times - kept it relaxed - although did try to do a little everyday. Changing it up also stops them getting too set on one process. I hope you find something that helps. 🫶

Yep, much harder when they are a little older or set in their ways/past issues. Have you tried clicker training? One of our old rescues took to it eventually- she was 6 yrs when we got her. Up & down cat tree twice on click = treat.

They never make it easy on us! 😆 As my parents did before me - I've always trained my cats to food graze - I think I have been lucky that it's worked each time - but it has prevented weight issues.

I have one for my furball that you can see through half of it - so he can see the treats rattling around inside. He loves it. I often set up an assault course for him - couple of cardboard boxes with normal toy ball inside & paper bags screwed up - with treats inside.

If she is having dried food, have you considered using treat balls/toys that make her work for extra or even some of her normal measure. I know they are called treat balls - but normal dried food works if she wants it enough. Then you have exercise included. Just a thought. 🙃
