Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with the Dean of Dentistry at UCSF, Michael Reddy, and his students!
Thank you for discussing how California can continue to support higher-education funding and sharing about how UCSF is providing more learning opportunities for students.
Great meeting with local leaders and water experts from Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino Counties to discuss water supply and management issues in our region. We also discussed the importance of keeping our lakes and rivers healthy while ensuring communities continue to have access to clean water.
Today was the first Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee hearing of the year! Iβm honored to serve as the Chair and continue to take leadership in protecting our public health and environment.
I look forward to continuing this important work and for more hearings this year!

It was great to meet with the Alzheimerβs Association yesterday and discuss how California can continue to support the needs of residents living with Alzheimerβs.

Today I had the pleasure of joining my legislative colleagues, the Karuk Tribe, and other wildfire experts at the Megafire press conference. Together, we highlighted what steps California is taking towards addressing the growing rate of catastrophic wildfires.
It was a pleasure meeting with @momsdemand to discuss how California can step up and strengthen our protections for our communities and youth facing gun violence.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Public Policy, Economic, and Political Science students from Stanford University. It was great to connect with the students about the work we are doing in Sacramento, and special thanks to former Assemblymember Joe Nation for organizing this trip!
Last week, I introduced AB 2157 with Assemblymember Bryan and the United Steelworkers, to make the Displaced Oil and Gas Workers Fund (DOGWF).
The DOGWF program is the only program that helps displaced oil and gas workers in transitioning into sectors that match their skills.

I am heartbroken to hear of the tragic loss of life in Nevada County due to the avalanche. The victims include members of the Marin community whom I represent. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones impacted by this tragedy.

Today, I am pleased to announce the introduction of AB 2045, which will extend the operation of the Habitat and Restoration Act to ensure rivers, streams, and wildlife habitat restoration projects can continue for generations to come.
