also, i'm looking for a new job! i'm a senior fullstack engineer, previously working at GitHub on Issues & Projects, mainly working in Typescript, React, Ruby on Rails.
I prefer remote or hybrid in Berlin (or Iceland). I'm a friendly, empathetic and tenacious problem-solver.
my only favorite thing about the test sirens in berlin today is it activated my little wolf ๐บ arooooooooo
but it is the germanized version of it when i immediately see that it's made with bรฉchamel sauce with muskatnuss, exactly like my german partner would make! ๐
thanks!
a scruffy black dog in the background. in the foreground is a hand with blue nail polish holding german and american passports
officially a dual passport holder now
i did it! i became a german citizen today!
i've been to Burning Man twice and i had meaningful experiences there. meeting so many older interesting folks triggered me to make big life changes by challenging me to think about how i want to be when im old.

worst part of being neurodivergent as afab for me? PMDD
at least after getting late diagnosed as adhd, i now know why every month my inner voice won't shut up trying to convince me to unlive myself, but still. this month's focus is on how i can't maintain long-term friendships. i hate this so much.
a week ago i completed my first bikepacking trip, 3 days/2 nights camping, ~300km along the Mosel River from the ๐ฉ๐ช๐ฑ๐บ๐ซ๐ท border to Koblenz! i did the first half of the trip solo!
i'm hooked now on slow travel & carrying everything i need on my bike ๐๐ดโโ๏ธ
a gravel bike with various bags attached that contain camping gear and water
Packed and ready for my first bikepacking trip (~300km) tomorrow. Will be solo for the first night of camping!
yep! i leased a gravel e-bike last year and it helped me build confidence with drop bars & clipless pedals & riding in general (~900km!). But sadly I am leaving my job soon & thus returning the expensive e-bike, so went ahead & bought a more affordable gravel bike.
Did a fun 32km gravel ride through the forest down to the Lahn & Rhein rivers yesterday. Preparing for my 1st bikepacking overnighter (200km+) this week.
Didn't know I was capable of doing this stuff without the aid of an e-bike, have surprised myself with my grit & capacity to power up hills.
Did a wunderschรถn 55km gravel bike loop today, including 2 ferry crossings over the Rhine River.
i signed up! can't wait! โจโค๏ธ
