My Saturday PSA:
Joe Biden isnβt the president anymore.
Instead, weβve got a mentally deranged and ethically compromised old man with the nuclear codes trespassing in the Oval Office.
Stop talking about Joe Biden.
Start talking about the Convicted Felon, Donald Trump.
Are the Doppler radars that are used by local news actually owned by local news station? Or are they owned/run by NWS/NOAA?
The local news does not show rain on the radar in my area but it's definitely raining here.
"do you have food safety tips" yes as a matter of fact I do I think the people should elect representatives who appoint experts to keep food safe theres a tip for you
there is a decent chance i never spend a single dime at target again in my life www.startribune.com/target-gave-...
Pete Buttigieg going on right wing platforms and not giving an inch is a million times more productive than Gavin Newsom inviting right wingers to his platform and letting them walk all over him.
PDP Activity Log submitted! Woot!
Thankfully, since I had done a mid- cycle review, my stack of "I need to enter these certificates" was not as large as it had been in the past.

It feels like a significant amount of quality news outlets are behind paywalls while absolutely none of the inflammatory right-wing ones are and in an age of overwhelming misinformation combined with increasingly poor media literacy I just haveβ¦ no idea what weβre supposed to do about that.
I spoke to a South Carolina woman today who is miscarrying - her fetus has no heartbeat - but the state's ban is preventing doctors from taking action.
She has to walk around with a dead fetus for another week so she can get a FOURTH ultrasound.
This is what bans do.
Screenshot from article that reads: Patrick Crusius believed he was acting at the direction of President Donald Trump when he murdered 23 people and wounded 22 others at an El Paso Walmart in 2019, his defense lawyer told El Paso Matters. "He thought he had to stop the invasion because that's what his president was telling him, which is just not rational," defense attorney Joe Spencer said in his first extended interview about the mass shooting that Crusius said was meant to stop "the Hispanic invasion of Texas." "He thought, if he doesn't do it, then nobody's going to do it. He's got to start," Spencer said.
Crusius killed 23 people because he thought Trump wanted him to? No death penalty.
Mangione kills a health care exec? Death penalty.
Iβm staunchly anti death penalty, but itβs interesting whose lives are considered valuable.
Musk and Trump are trying to dismantle the VA by laying off 83,000 employees.
Β
They are sacrificing the needs of our veterans to give tax breaks to billionaires.
Β
That is something that the American people β Republicans, Democrats, and Independents β will never support.
American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chatβand accidentally included The Atlanticβs editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. theatln.tc/IuULQFiY

RFK Jr. said in his Fox News OpEd that βGood nutrition remains a best defense against most chronic and infectious illnessesβ.
The best diet in the world will not prevent infection if you are unvaccinated and sharing air with someone who has measles.
Colorful carrots and beets at the Phoenix farmers market
Sign for Phoenix farmers market
I'm in Phoenix for QuiltCon, but there was no way I'd pass up a farmer's market.
If you're at QuiltCon, consider walking over to the nearby farmers market for lunch to support small businesses. Market is over at 1pm.
QuiltCon 2025 shirt. Art is of different cacti with three quilt blocks on a laundry line.

In 1992 the US public health service recommended folic acid (FA) for all women of childbearing age. FA decreases the risk of infant brain malformations. A 2015 follow up study found that from 1995-2011, brain malformations had been prevented in ~1,326 infants per year. This is public health at work.
Was this shown at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah last year? I feel like I saw it in person there.
Never forget that when Michelle Obama tried to increase access to healthy foods in school lunches, she got crucified by Republican politicians for government overreach, but when RFK Jr talks about changing additives without any impact except to make food more $$$, heβs heralded.
Pretty much every single person among the 100,000s the Trump administration is summarily firing is someone who works hard at a job where they earn much less than they could in the private sector, precisely because they believe in public service.
Paul Martin, the inspector general for the USAID, has been fired after resisting the administration. Just a day ago, his office released a report warning that staff reductions and spending freezes put hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at risk of misuse and waste. This is the way.
